A denture fitted with MICRO technology
to IMPROVE SPORTS STARS PERfoRmANCE

GSK Poligrip are the leaders in denture adhesive.
They wanted to change how people looked at dentures -
from old and dirty, to something people could feel proud of having.
So, we created the world’s first denture implant that contained
micro technology to monitor biometric data of NHL players.

SmartTooth measures heart rate, acceleration, and deceleration.
It also measures core temperature and recovery rate.
And by streaming real time metrics straight to a smartphone,
SmartTooth could help athletes stay on top of their game. 

Working with leading technologists and dentists,
we managed to custom design a denture that was fitted
with micro technology that allowed it to read acceleration
and deceleration, heart rate, core temperature and recovery.
The information was then sent to the coaches mobile phone,
which let them have a better understanding of
Brent Burns performance on the ice.

The design of the tooth, docking station and the
APP was inspired by NHL sports branding and gear.

With over 800 NHL games under his belt,
San Jose Shark Brent Burns had seen his fair share of action. 
Along the way, he lost three teeth and earned one
of the most famous smiles in the NHL.
He became the first SmartTooth owner in the world.
